Sir Simon talking about what he believes Haydn would've been like as a friend. Short, but nonetheless insightful words in this NPR special from November, 2011.

Esa-Pekka Salonen - parody
- The Rite of Spring - Salonen/LA Phil (V) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R83u2k1w8PE&feature=related
There are certainly attributes in Esa-Pekka Salonen's craft that I truly enjoy; all the more reason to love and share this caricature. Conductors really are like children - there are those times in which the overly rambunctious kid takes over and gives the public a delightful look into their own personality (in this case, Esa-Pekka's insanity). For Esa-Pekka, it is this free-wielding, brash, and slightly disconnected acrobatics that make this parody oh so amusing.
Also, just as a warning, the music is not The Rite of Spring...
